Former head of United Fresh dies

Bernie Imming, who led the produce industry association United Fresh for 10 years, died Sept. 22 at a retirement home in Falls Church, Va. He was 94. Imming was president and CEO of what was then the United Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Association from 1975 to 1985, having first joined the association in 1956 as corporate secretary. During his long career at the association, he was president of the American Society of Association Executives and was a member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Association Committee of 100 for 15 years.
